An Important Update for all interested in the 2020 All Triumph Challenge
By now we have all heard the news and likely most of us are in Stage 3 COVID-19 lockdown conditions. So you might well ask how does this affect the ATC? The MSCA and our TSOA Executive committees have met separately to discuss this, and all the competition events for the next 6 weeks have had to be cancelled. These include Sandown Sprint round on 19th July, Winton MG & Invited British on 1st August and Phillip Island 6Hr regularity on 9th August. However, with the ATC being just outside lockdown there was a lot of discussion around this taking place.
The ATC event has already been compromised considerably by the MSA “Return to Race” COVID -19 restrictions on socialising and spectating which will still be in effect after this outbreak wave is brought back under control. This still means our TSOA members and social partners in TCCV are not able to participate to make this the fantastic event it could be.
While the COVID-19 transmission continues at an alarming rate and with the expectation it will take several weeks to establish a turn around its just not possible to make final preparations for the ATC in the short time between possible easing and the scheduled event.
With a sense of frustration between all the committees, regrettably we have to cancel the ATC for August 29/30 weekend. However, the good news is there are still preparations with MSCA for PI in September, Sandown in October and a potential Winton event in November.
This may provide opportunity for our Challenge to go ahead this year.
The health and safety of all our club members and wider community engaged in all things Triumph is foremost in discussions and planning and a challenge we will all work through together.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, and for supporting TSOA during these unprecedented times. We look forward to seeing you trackside again soon.
