Presidents Update on the 2020 Annual General Meeting
As the Covid-19 Stage 4 restrictions are placing significant impact on our activities and our ability to meet and mix, we have consulted with Departrment of Justice regarding the 2020 Annual General meeting and the submission of accounts, normally due to be completed in September.
The Department has provided a mechanism for incorporated associations to defer the AGM and submission of returns for 3 months, with no fee and no penalty. We have received the forms from the Department to apply for this extension.
As a committee we have determined this is the best course of action for us to take, to permit the ongoing running of the club from an administrative basis, with minimal impact to the members.
This means that we will ” hopefully” conduct an AGM in December, perhaps combining that with some Christmas cheer? only time will tell.
I hope that you, the members, are coping well under these restrictions and staying safe. If for any reason you require help or just a chat please feel free to contact myself and likewise if you know of anyone who could do with a call, make it a priority to contact them and let others know.
Communication is a powerful tool and one way we can keep in touch while physical contact is restricted.
